Power steering gear
- A steering unit with pinion and rack; a small pinion sits at the end of the steering shaft.
- The pinion meshes with a toothed rack, and rack movement is transferred through tie rods to turn the wheels.
Rack & Pinion structure
- Turning the pinion moves the rack left and right.
- That movement is delivered to the wheels through tie rods for steering.
